Research interests
Public health physician and senior government advisor specialising in healthy urban environments and place-based approaches to population health improvement. Experienced in translating evidence into policy and practice, and working across disciplines. Expertise on the integration of health into urban development policy (housing, planning, transport, climate); non-communicable disease prevention, wider determinants of health, and reducing health inequalities.
Currently working across academia and the UK Government with an National Institute for Health Research-funded academic award. Over a decade of experience advancing healthy cities and prevention across local, regional and national governments, healthcare organisations and academic institutions.
Methodological expertise includes evidence synthesis, mixed methods research, complex evaluation, knowledge exchange, stakeholder engagement and participatory approaches.
