Research interests
Pablo is an interdisciplinary researcher interested in driving systems change towards a regenerative built environment that enhances the health and vibrancy of social and ecological systems and creates the conditions for all life to flourish. Taking a holistic systems perspective, he utilises approaches and frameworks rooted in systems thinking, design thinking, and futures thinking, such as Group Model Building and Three Horizons, to collaboratively explore complex challenges and co-develop solutions with diverse stakeholders.
His current work for TRUUD (Tacking the Root Causes Upstream of Unhealthy Urban Development), seeks to map and understand the interconnected factors and feedback loops that affect the consideration of health in urban development decision-making across the public and private sector. This informs the development of multi-level, multi-sectoral co-designed interventions that can drive and reinforce positive change.
Recently, Pablo facilitated knowledge exchange for the UKPRP Community of Practice Development Theme: "Improving Collaborative Research Practices" to share and reflect with members on ways to improve inter/transdisciplinary research. He also participated in the Regenerative Design Lab accelerator programme for leading engineering and construction industry professionals to explore regenerative design principles and bring them into their organisation, work, and life.
