Research interests
I lead the ReMemBR group (Research into Memory, the Brain and Dementia) comprising neurologists, psychologists and researchers and run a cognitive disorders disorders clinic focusing on early, accurate diagnosis of dementia. My clinical research work is based in the Bristol Brain Centre on the Southmead Hospital campus and I chair the strategic oversight committee for the Brain Centre.
My research looks at early markers of and interventions for Alzheimer’s and Lewy Body Diseases. I focus on the relationship between long-term memory, sleep and Alzheimer’s Disease with a view to developing interventions for sleep to help prevent decline and improve quality of life in prodromal and established Alzheimer’s.
