Research interests
I am a collaborative PhD researcher based jointly at the University of Bristol and the British Library. My AHRC-funded doctoral project examines Michael Hamburger (1924-2007) as a mediator of German and English literature, particularly as revealed in the British Library’s archive of his papers.
Hamburger's source literature (above all Goethe, Kleist, Novalis, Clare, and Coleridge) coincides with my wider interest in Anglo-German cultural relations in this period. My research also brings me into contact with theories of translation, the archive, and material texts.
