Biography
Research interests
Jonatan Södergren (PhD) studies brands from cultural perspectives, often drawing on qualitative methods. He is co-editing the forthcoming book Advertising Aesthetics (Bristol University Press), together with Ileyha Dagalp and Jonathan Schroeder. His current projects explore themes such as:
- The market aestheticization of plant-based food
- Brands and the cultural transformation of masculinity
- How music venues create common culture
- How disadvantaged consumers are guided toward healthier and more sustainable practices
- Consumer research as cultural critique
- The role of artistic thinking in theory development
- How poetic readings of Windrush migration reveal errant forms of organising
- How more inclusive and aesthetic ways of writing can expand consumer research
