Biography
Chathuni is a private lawyer. She received an LLB (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh and then stayed to undertake doctoral reseach on the Scots common law contract of sale at the same institution. She joined the University of Bristol as a Lecturer in Law in September 2017.
Chathuni's research interests lie at the interface between contract law and property law. She has a particular interest in the contract of sale and the application of private law rules to intangible property. Her research examines these topics through the prism of both English and Scots law. She draws on doctrinal, historical and sometimes comparative methodologies in her work.
Her teaching complements her research interests, and she has taught Contract Law, Roman Law, Comparative Law and Commercial Law at the University of Bristol.
