Press release issued: 10 June 2025

The University of Bristol opens its doors to prospective students and their friends and families this Friday and Saturday [June 13 and 14].

The open days, which run from 9.30am to 4pm, give a taste of life at the University, including its world-class courses and stunning campus. The open day is still taking bookings, and the total number of visitors is expected to continue to rise.

Visitors can learn about the University’s pastoral support, Careers Service, scholarships and the 350 clubs and societies on offer through Bristol Students’ Union. Prospective students can also find out about what accommodation in Bristol and how the admissions process works.

There will also be talks on race inclusion and support for disabled students, LGBTQ+ students and students from the local Bristol area. Attendees can also meet current students and graduates.

Fourteen pop-up food stalls will offer everything from delicious pizzas and mac & cheese to tasty Vietnamese Bánh mì.

Local businesses should expect more footfall, particularly around the heart of the Clifton Campus: Tyndall Avenue, Woodland Road, Queens Road and the Triangle.

Professor Tansy Jessop, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education and Students at the University of Bristol, said: “Our June Open Days are a wonderful opportunity for prospective students and their supporters to experience the vibrant energy of our campus, meet our passionate staff and students, and discover the wide range of academic and extracurricular activities we have on offer. We look forward to welcoming everyone to Bristol this weekend.”

On Friday and Saturday, Tyndall Avenue, Woodland Road and Priory Road will be closed to traffic to allow a shuttle bus services to operate. There will also be a one-way system from St Michael’s Hill, along Tyndall Avenue, turning right onto Woodland Road and exiting at Tyndall’s Park Road.
