Operated by First Bus, the new U2 service is open to students, staff and members of the public. The U2 makes its first journey on 24 September, providing a much-needed transport link for the local community as well as reducing the pressure of parking in Bristol. Developed in response to feedback from staff and students at the Bristol Veterinary School at Langford, the U2 will make it easier for them to make use of University facilities based across both the Clifton and Langford campuses. The service is also free for Veterinary School students.
“We are delighted to see the launch of this new service,” said Bristol Veterinary School Manager, Dr Tom Podesta. “Not only will it make a huge difference to our staff and students but will also ease transport pressure for the local community by providing a direct link to Bristol and back.”
The U2 joins the already established U1 Unibus which has been running successfully for a year, under the current contract, taking passengers from the Stoke Bishop Transport Hub to the Clifton Campus.
