University sponsors Bristol Post’s Green Capital Awards 2015

As part of the University’s ambition to inspire change, the University is proud to be supporting Bristol Post’s Green Capital Awards 2015.

With a range of categories from Green Hero to Green Organisation, the awards recognise the activities of businesses, schools, organisations, communities and individuals working to make Bristol one of the UK’s greenest cities in 2015 and provide a lasting legacy to sustainable living in the future.

The University is sponsoring the Green Entrepreneur Award, reflecting the significant contribution of responsible business in building a better Bristol.

The University has been working with local partners throughout the year to make the city a more sustainable, happier and healthy place to live. This has included staff and students getting involved in a wide range of activities for the social good. Now, by sponsoring an award, the University is promoting the contribution of local action in greening the city.

We’ve embraced the opportunities presented by European Green Capital 2015 and it’s been a fantastic example of partners across the city working together to show the world what can be done to make cities happier and healthier places to live and work,” said Professor Judith Squires, chair of the University’s Sustainability Steering Group.
