The Equality Challenge Unit’s Athena SWAN awards recognise universities and their departments for their efforts to support female staff and students in the fields of science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM). The School of Experimental Psychology has received a bronze award.
Professor Jan Noyes, Head of the School of Experimental Psychology, said:
‘We are delighted to achieve the Athena SWAN bronze award. However, there is much work to do in addressing the gender inequalities in psychology. As a society and a nation, we cannot afford to lose the talents of so many excellent female scientists. For us, Athena SWAN is just the starting point.’
The University has also been awarded a renewal of its bronze Athena SWAN Award at the institutional level.
