An episode of the lively 3rd Degree programme will be recorded in the Wills Memorial Building on Wednesday, 27 November. Staff, students and the public are welcome to attend.

Hosted by comedian Steve Punt, best known as a satirist on The Now Show, the quiz promises to be funny, lively and dynamic.

It’s produced by David Tyler for Pozzitive Television, whose credits range from Spitting Image and Not The Nine O'Clock News to French & Saunders right through to Little Britain.

The Bristol ‘dons’ who will be competing are former Mastermind contestant George Ferzoco, from the Department of Religion and Theology, Dr Helen Heath from the School of Physics, and Dr Gareth Griffith from the Department of English.

Their student rivals are Andrew Smith (Religion and Theology), Max Leonardo (Physics) and Claire Murgatroyd (English).

Rounds include specialist and general knowledge, quick-fire, bell-and-buzzer, individual questions and 'highbrow and lowbrow'.

The 3rd Degree has the underlying rigour of a formal quiz combined with a light-hearted quest to discover how the students will fare against their mentors.

All staff, students and members of the public are welcome to attend the recording in the Great Hall, Wills Memorial Building, on Wednesday, 27 November. Please arrive at 5.30pm for a 6pm start. No booking is required but people will be seated on a first-come first-served basis.
