The University of Bristol is now recruiting new lay members to join to the University Council and several of its committees. It’s a chance for members of the public to share their expertise and help the University maintain its place as one of the country’s leading research and teaching universities.

Council is the University’s governing body and it plays an important role in shaping the University’s strategy and ensuring it is governed and managed effectively. Lay members are appointed for a three-year term beginning in January.

Anyone interested in becoming a lay member of Council or of one of its committees can find out more about what the roles involve and the skills and experience we are looking for, along with details of how to apply, on the Governance and senior staff vacancies web page.

The closing date for applications is 14 May 2013.
