Monday 26 January marks the start of the Chinese Year of the Ox. To kick-start celebrations, the University and Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery are hosting a day of free, fun events for all the family from 11.00 to 16.00 on Sunday 25 January in the Wills Memorial Building and Bristol's City Museum and Art Gallery on Queen’s Road.
- See the University's amazing lion-dance troupe in action (11.30 and 15.10, Wills Memorial Building)
- Take part in a children’s painting workshop with local Chinese artist Aili Purdy and have a go at making a giant scroll (11.00-16.00, City Museum)
- Watch shadow-puppet show Journey to the West with Noisy Oyster and meet Monkey, Pigsy and other characters in a story based on a classic Chinese tale (11.00, 12.00, 14.00 and 15.00, City Museum)
- Enjoy dazzling kung-fu displays (12.45, 14.15, Wills Memorial Building)
