Sporting fun for over 50s

As part of a new Healthy Living Week initiative, the University of Bristol is offering everyone over the age of 50, living in Bristol, the chance to take part in a week-long programme of fitness fun starting, Monday, 5 June to Sunday 11 June.

As part of a new Healthy Living Week initiative, the University of Bristol is offering everyone over the age of 50, living in Bristol, the chance to take part in a week-long programme of fitness fun starting, Monday, 5 June to Sunday 11 June.

Organised by the University of Bristol’s Centre for Sport Exercise and Health together with Bristol City Council - both partners in ‘Bristol Sport’. Sessions are either free or as little as 50 pence.

The Centre is offering a variety of activities and exercise classes including practical taster classes to suit all abilities. There will also be classes aimed specifically at people with health problems such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis and balance problems. An opportunity to speak to the experts such as physiotherapists, osteopath’s acupuncturists and homeopath’s, together with specialist exercise instructors to find out what you should be doing and how to do it, will also be on offer.
