Find your bike a buddy

A lot of people will be getting on their bikes this month and you could be one of them. Next week [15-23 June] is Bike Week and Bristol has a unique new service to encourage people to cycle to work or college. BikeBuddies uses sophisticated technology developed at the University of Bristol to match people cycling the same route and to put them in touch with each other.

Nicky Ferguson, 234car Development Director, said: "Lots of people think about cycling to work but not many people try it. We hope that this service will encourage more people to have a go and find a bike buddy for a day, week or even for life!"

BikeBuddies, which is sponsored by Bristol City Council, hopes to encourage a lot of first-time cyclists by matching them with experienced cyclists who can help them along with hints and tips.

If you are a regular cyclist or if you fancy getting on your bike just for a day then register for free on BikeBuddies at www.234car.com/bikebuddies/
