Hear about how you can improve your mental capacity practice as a practitioner and within your organisation.
This free event is open to everyone working in social care in the South West region including care provider staff, care home managers, student social workers and occupational therapists and local authority employed social care staff.
Barry Graves from ADASS South West has completed a thematic review of the South West region’s Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARs) focussing on the theme of the Mental Capacity Act 2005. This learning event will summarise the key findings and recommendations for practice from this review that are applicable across the spectrum of social care. There is relevant learning for practitioners, learning and development providers and those in more senior and/or strategic positions.
Safeguarding Adult Reviews are statutory enquiries completed under s.44 of the Care Act 2014 when an individual with care and support needs dies, is thought to have experienced harm and agencies could have potentially worked better together. The SAR’s purpose is to identify and disseminate learning from such events.
