Hosted by The Physiological Society
Join in vivo physiology researchers, and funders, to exchange practical knowledge on the use of animal models in your research.
Hear from a range of specialists in the field from the School of Physiology, Pharmacology and Neuroscience at the University of Bristol. The school encompasses internationally recognised research groups investigating how cells and organisms function and how we might modulate their function to improve health. Notably, Professor Emma Robinson will talk about best practice in rodent animal research, amongst other specialists talking about key in vivo principles. Explore how to improve existing animal models, and exchange ideas with other researchers. Representatives from funding bodies including MRC and NC3Rs will discuss how you can comply with sex different requirements using practical examples, and give guidance to assist with experimental design.
Learning outcomes:
- Understanding best practice in rodent animal research.
- Understanding how to improve existing animal models you use within your research.
- Understanding the impact of sex on the quality of research outputs and developing successful funding applications.
