African BioGenome Project: Genomics for the future of biological diversity across Africa

Hosted by the Wellcome Sanger Institute as part of Black History Month

The African BioGenome Project is a coordinated pan-African effort to build capacity (and infrastructure) to generate, analyze and deploy genomics data for the improvement and sustainable use of biodiversity and agriculture across Africa.

Biodiversity conservation and food security represent a substantial issue worldwide, and requires local solutions, as highlighted in the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.

ThankGod will discuss the process, and progress, of establishing a pan-African network to address these challenges through genomic science and how this could inform and influence policy across Africa."
