Metabolomic analysis using molecular networking and techniques to link -omics data
venue TBC
Metabolomic analysis using tandem mass spec (MS2) has transformed our ability to rapidly analyse complex chemical mixtures and track metabolite production/change with different conditions. In this free seminar we will walk you through a hands-on tutorial of Molecular Networking with the software GNPS. Molecular networking allows researchers to rapidly identify known compounds within your sample and identifies links between related molecules providing an unprecedented insight into the complex world of metabolomics. This approach has been used across several disciplines to track metabolite production, chemical reactions and aid novel compound discovery. I will also discuss new techniques being explored to link genomics datasets into metabolomic analysis.
Free tea and coffee with be provided and researchers from all schools are welcome.
