An introduction into knowledge mobilisation for researchers

20 January 2022, 1.00 PM - 20 January 2022, 2.00 PM

online

Hosted by the National Institute for Health Research

It can take years for research findings to be implemented into both clinical practice and policy.

This leaves an uncomfortable truth for the health research community that patients and the public are not benefiting from the current evidence generated.

The field of knowledge mobilisation could help tackle this challenge. Knowledge mobilisation is about sharing knowledge between different communities to catalyse change, such as changes in practice/policy.

This one-hour webinar will be presented by Dr Helen Baxter and Professor Lindsay Bearne, Senior Research Fellows in knowledge mobilisation at the NIHR Centre for Engagement and Dissemination.

They will introduce you to the theory and practice of knowledge mobilisation, give illustrations of Knowledge Mobilisation approaches that have been applied to real world examples, and signpost you to a range of Knowledge Mobilisation resources.

By the end of this session you will understand:

* what knowledge mobilisation is and why it is important to embed into a research project
* how to integrate knowledge mobilisation strategies throughout the research cycle
* where to access resources to support knowledge mobilisation
