This Ashley Community & Housing Ltd (ACH) / Migration Mobilities Institute (MMB) webinar series will focus on the role of housing in integration and resettlement for refugee and migrant communities in the UK. The event aims to bridge the gap between housing research, policy development and delivery around migration issues, bringing together a wide range of stakeholders from the housing sector and beyond. Access to safe and secure housing is one of the first steps towards leading a self-sufficient and ambitious life for refugees and migrants in the UK.
With a Nationality and Borders Bill that means refugees arriving to the UK via ‘irregular routes’ may be subject to a No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) condition, and a shortage of social housing that is often cited as one of the key drivers of homelessness, there is a real risk of refugee and migrant destitution rising within the UK.
This seminar will address key issues within the housing market, explore existing intervention models from Crisis and ACH, and delve into how we can provide inclusive support and housing that aids economic and social integration. Join us and our panel as we aim to bridge the gap between research, policy development and lived experience.
