Covid-19 and Mental Health Awareness: Psychological Impact of Covid-19

Join Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust’s (AWP) Research & Development (R&D) team in celebrating the important work that has been conducted by the NHS CHECK and Psychological Impact of COVID-19 studies in addressing issues relating to Mental Health over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Psychological Impact of Covid-19 Study

Shanaya Rathod

The Psychological Impact of COVID-19 Study, run by Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, aimed to:

  • Better understand how the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown impacted on day-to-day lifestyles
  • Understand what people found helpful during this time
  • Understand what may have caused some people to be more affected than others in terms of wellbeing

Danielle Lamb & Siobhan Hegarty

The NHS CHECK Study, run by King’s College London, encouraged participation from all NHS Staff (including student, bank and agency staff and volunteers) with the aim to:

  • Understand how the COVID-19 pandemic was impacting on the health and wellbeing of staff
  • Understand how to better support NHS staff during and after the COVID-19 pandemic

We were privileged to support these studies as a department; sharing these studies with our NHS Staff, as well as friends and family, towards identifying the needs of the population and inform organisational policy on wellbeing and support. This Mental Health Awareness Week, we want to invite you to hear about the outcomes of these two studies and the impact that they have had on NHS Staff and the wider society.
