Raymond Warren Prize in Composition

We are delighted to announce this year's Raymond Warren Prize in Composition. We have awarded it jointly to two of our wonderful PhD students.
Hadi Rahmani will use his share of the prize money to help him compose and record new works exploring polyphony in Persian classical music, writing for ensembles ranging from duets to a large orchestra of Persian instruments. This is a vital part of his PhD research, allowing him to develop and document a new approach to Persian modal music.
Lia Su will use the prize money to support rehearsals and performances of her pieces, and to support her participation in international workshops.
