Jesse Taylor-West awarded National Fellowship

20 December 2022

School of Mathematics PhD student Jesse Taylor-West has been awarded an EPSRC National Fellowship in Fluids and Dynamics

Jesse Taylor-West has successfully applied for anEngineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) postdoctoral National Fellowship in Fluid Dynamics (NFFDy). The fellowship is for 3 years and will study the role of cooling and solidificationon the emplacement of volcanic lava flows. He will carry out his work in the School of Mathematics, in collaboration with volcanologists at the University of Bristol and Durham University.

He will be doing fluid dynamics modelling of the role of cooling and solidification on the emplacement of volcanic lava flows.

Huge congratulations to Jesse on this achievement.
