Mathematics of Cybersecurity MSc

Increasing reliance of the world’s businesses and infrastructure on networked devices makes security issues ever more crucial, with breaches causing severe economic and reputational damage. The Mathematics of Cybersecurity MSc is designed to equip mathematics graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to combat increasing threats.

Curriculum

The Mathematics of Cybersecurity MSc curriculum contains an exciting variety of units including strands of pure mathematics, data science, computer science and statistics.  You will complete a group dissertation project with a real-world focus at the end of the taught component of your programme

If you have covered the material in one of the mandatory units you can complete an alternative unit(s) with the agreement of the Programme Director.

Some programming will be required as part of the course.  Applicants would benefit from having some basic programming experience (particularly in R, Python or C), but this does not need to have been obtained via formal qualifications/training but could be obtained via freely available online courses.

Some teaching may occur on a Wednesday afternoon.
