Information for our Mathematics Alumni
We value our rich and diverse community in the School of Mathematics, and we want to maintain and grow that community as our students graduate and go on to interesting careers. We therefore encourage our graduates to stay in touch, get involved with volunteering opportunities, and grow the talent around you.
Events
We encourage you to take advantage of the events and activities that we host for our alumni:
- Networking event in Bristol: 25 June

We also host public events and we encourage our alumni to check our Events page for upcoming opportunities.
- INFORMED AI Summer School, 15-18 June
Join INFORMED AI for their 2nd Annual Summer School, a unique chance to explore the cutting‑edge mathematics behind AI and machine learning in Bristol on 15-18 June 2026.
With short courses from leading international researchers Bruno Loureiro (École Normale Supérieure, Paris) Sanjay Shakkottai (The University of Texas at Austin) and Gayane Vardoyan (University of Massachusetts, Amherst) the Summer School offers a vibrant, collaborative environment for early‑career and established researchers alike.
Registration is OPEN and early registration is advised, as places are allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Volunteering
Our alumni are a valuable source of information and inspiration for our current students. Please get involved in supporting our students via the following events:
- Maths at Work
Maths at Work is a fantastic opportunity to discuss and demonstrate first-hand the application of maths, analytics and data science in your work whilst connecting with academics, students and the wider community in the School of Mathematics.
- Get Interview Ready
At Get Interview Ready we run online, dedicated practice interviews for our students with industry professionals working in a mathematical job role. We invite School of Mathematics Alumni and individual representatives from industry partners to provide true to life interview experience and constructive feedback to prepare students for internship, placement and graduate job interviews.
- An Evening with Alumni
This in-person panel event showcases the expertise and experience of our alumni for current students to provide an opportunity to learn about the careers and experiences of University of Bristol Mathematics alumni across a range of sectors and career points and inspire them to consider their personal career journeys.
