University of Bristol included in list of Top UK Universities for Management Consultancy
27 April 2020
On 14 April 2020, Consultancy.uk published its new ranking of the UK’s top 15 Universities for graduate destinations in the management consultancy sector.
As well as the University of Bristol, also included in the list were the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge and the London School of Economics (LSE).
The School of Management at the University of Bristol has world-class academics researching and teaching consultancy, with Professor Andrew Sturdy leading the undergraduate unit on management consultancy, which includes how best to use consultants as well as consulting skills, ethics and research.
Andrew’s research on consultancy has been widely published and referenced by academic journals, within the consulting industry and in the national media. In November 2019, he was presented with the Centre for Management Consultancy Excellence award for his research on the “garbage can” theory of decision-making and how consultants influence this.
Students aspiring to a career in management consultancy can join the Bristol Consulting Society, and use the faculty Professional Liaison Network and Careers services to access support, networking and work experience opportunities.
Palie Smart, Head of the School of Management, said “We’re delighted to be named in Consultancy UK’s top universities for management consultancy. I know many of our students have ambitions to enter this sector; within government, corporate or charitable organisations. We are committed to supporting our students in achieving their ambitions both through learning from leading academics in the field and via our student services and societies. It’s fantastic to see this reflected in our graduate destinations.”
