Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost Professor Judith Squires
Principal's House, 1 University Walk, Clifton, Bristol, BS8 1TF
The International Research Partnerships team invite all University of Bristol academics who are interested in international partnerships to join us at our visitor accommodation in Principal’s House, where Provost Professor Judith Squires will be officially opening our new exhibition of artworks in the building which we have curated in association with Theatre Collection and Special Collections. You will also have the opportunity to view the accommodation and facilities that are provided to our international visitors as part of our International Research Partnership schemes, as well as learning more about these schemes themselves, mingling with colleagues, and potentially meeting some of our current visitors and hosts.
The event will run between 16:30-18:30 with drinks and nibbles available throughout. At around 17:00 the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost Professor Judith Squires will give a short talk, and attendees will then have the opportunity to tour the communal spaces as well as some of the suites. Members of the International Research Partnerships team, as well as the wider Research Development International team, will be on hand throughout to answer your questions about our visiting researcher schemes.
Visitors on our schemes are also given the opportunity to use the Verdon Smith International Seminar Room on the first floor of Royal Fort House, which we have recently upgraded with a new screen and lectern making it suitable for hybrid international collaboration activities. If you are interested to view this facility please do indicate on the booking form, and if there is sufficient interest we will arrange a short tour to the room at approximately 17:30.
All University of Bristol staff are welcome, so if you're interested in learning more about what we do please do come and see us to find out more! We ask that you please register in advance if possible so we have a good idea of numbers for catering and can provide you with any updates or additional information. If you have any access or dietary requirements please do ensure you indicate this on the form so we can try and make necessary accommodations.

Please be aware that we plan to take photographs during the event, which we will share online (including our Twitter feed, website and/or blog). If you are uncomfortable with this, please notify a member of the IRP team on the day and we will endeavour to try and avoid including you in any photographs. Due to the nature of the event we cannot guarantee you won’t be in any images, but we will try and avoid taking photos where you are clearly visible.
