External assessors are experts in the subject area from other academic institutions nominated by the selection panel and requested to submit a written assessment on the short-listed candidates for Chair appointments. Such assessments are requested from three external assessors and are used by the interview panel to inform their questions and deliberations. External assessors should not come from the same institutions as short-listed candidates for reasons of confidentiality.
