Pedagogic research and development

Our Pedagogic Research and Development SIG group provides a space for sharing best pedagogic research practices across the faculty. For many academics in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, research backgrounds were not focused on social science skills that can be used to explore the educational experiences of our students. This SIG aims to empower individuals to pursue pedagogic research with confidence and provide a supportive community to support individuals through the research process, from ethics applications to publications. Throughout the year, we aim to host several training events, both in-person and online. Notifications regarding events will be posted on the website and via our mailing list. This group is open to all members of the Health and Life Sciences Community at the University of Bristol. Get in touch via the email below if you are interested in joining.

Current work

As a new SIG, we are finding our feet and looking toward setting our focus goals over the next twelve months and beyond. What this space as we make plans, and we hope to welcome you to meetings in the future.

You can view information about events that have been previously run in Blackboard. All ordinary and honorary staff are periodically added to the Blackboard course but if you find that you are unable to access the course, please contact us for help halsen-admin@bristol.ac.uk.

We regularly add content so if you have been unable to attend a session or would like to look back at the content from a topic that you were particularly interested in, please log into Blackboard.
