A group has been formed within the University of Bristol English Department, with links to the Education Department. Its mission is to examine poetry's place in learning, from early years to school study to university level, with a view to influencing curricula, policies and practices for the better. Its members are committed to improving the enjoyment and understanding of poetry both for its own sake and as a means of enhancing verbal, intellective and emotional skills and wellbeing.
