Romantic Afterlives: Poetry

Half-day colloquium

The Centre for Romantic Studies is proud to present the second in a new series of annual colloquia on the theme of Romantic Afterlives. This year we will examine Poetry. Future themes will include Fiction, Music, Visual Art, and others. In this series we invite participants to reflect on and critically examine adaptations of and responses to the lives and works of canonical and non-canonical Romantic-period authors, artists, and historical figures. What is the critical and pedagogical value of adaptations? How do they impact upon the subject’s life and works? How do they develop or reconfigure their reception history inside and outside of academia?
