Civil congratulates Amy Palmer
13 June 2019
The Department of Civil Engineering congratulates Amy Palmer for winning the South West Women in Property Student Awards.
Amy's presentation included her experience building large concrete structures during her summer placement and the future of civil engineering. The panel of judges were extremely impressed, saying that her presentation was of a professional standard.
Amy said “being involved in the WiP Regional Student Awards has been an incredible and thoroughly enjoyable experience which has hugely benefitted my interpersonal and professional skills. I have met so many inspiring women in the process, both professionals and other like-minded students with a passion for the built environment, which has been very encouraging as I move closer to entering the world of construction. I am delighted to have won the award and am very excited for the next part of what has already been an amazing journey.”
The department will be cheering Amy on as she goes to the WiP finals in September.
