MSc Project Proposals - submission by Friday 21st October
19 September 2016
Please note there is an important change to the time frame for MSc projects.
The project selection will take place by the end of December 2016. This is to help the students to familiarize themselves with the research topics earlier and ensure that they are prepared and equipped for the short and intensive work during the summer months. Some elements of their taught course, such as literature review and FEA assignment will be aligned with project objectives. We also expect that an early start will help the industrial and academic supervisors to engage with the students in advance, and arrange for relevant inductions and training if needed.
The time frame for the practical work on their project remains as it was. The project formally commences on 1st June 2017 and the student’s efforts are entirely focused on the project for a period of 3 months. Assessment of the student’s progress is undertaken by viva examination on Friday 1st September 2017. The project formally ends with the submission of the dissertation on Monday 11th September 2017.
The projects proposals need to be submitted by Friday 21st October 2016 (at the same time with the CDT proposals).
Please advice your academic and industrial partners about this opportunity. The supervisors are not required to make a financial commitment to the project except for in-kind support where appropriate.
