We are very pleased to welcome Yilin Yang, visiting from the University of Iceland, who will be delivering this week's Hotstuff Seminar:-
Title
Far-field velocity anomalies concurrent with volcanic activities in Iceland.
Abstract
Estimating the timing of velocity changes (break points) in Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) coordinate time series is required for understanding various Earth processes and how they may couple with each other. We’ll briefly review GNSS time series analysis focusing on the uncertainty of its derived ground deformation. Then a study with Bayesian estimation on the chronological relationship between the far-field velocity anomalies at the Krafla volcanic system, northeast Iceland, and the Bárðarbunga-Holuhraun 2014-2015 rifting episode will be reported.
Everyone welcome.
