The MSc Periodontology invites you to join our special guest speaker, Prof C. Ramseier, who will give dental professionals an understanding of how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning models can be used to predict periodontal disease progression, tooth loss and treatment outcomes. The session will bridge the gap between complex data science and clinical application in the dental practice.

  • To evaluate the accuracy and reliability of current AI models in predicting periodontitis and peri-implantitis.
  • To discuss the integration of AI-driven risk assessments into daily clinical workflows to enable personalised patient care.
  • To examine the recommendations for responsible periodontology and the ethical considerations involved in relying on automated predictions for surgical and non-surgical therapies.
