Periodontology Soft Tissue Course

This course is designed to enhance knowledge of interdisciplinary approaches when assessing, diagnosing, treatment planning and treating mucogingival conditions with practical dissection on pig heads.

Course requirements: Applicants must have a BDS and must be currently on training as a DCT or a Speciality Registrar in Dentistry (StR) position.

Course Objectives

  1. To assess mucogingival conditions from a functional and aesthetic perspective
  2. Recognise biological and anatomical alterations and be able to communicate effectively with peers and the lay people the technical requirements in relation to respective and augmentation therapy and possible outcomes case on evidence-based information
  3. Gain practical skills on relevant techniques for treating mucogingival conditions
  4. Discuss relevant biomaterials, their properties and indications when treating mucogingival conditions
