Course Objectives
The day includes practical exercises on pigs’ heads to simulate clinical scenarios and enhance confidence in advanced periodontal techniques.
By the end of the session, delegates should:
- Be able to consider patient, site and clinician factors which may explain why non-surgical periodontal therapy (NSPT) is not working, and when to consider periodontal surgery.
- Understand the phases of wound healing and its role in periodontal surgery.
- Be familiarised with types of periodontal bone defects, which enables the clinician to choose the most suitable periodontal surgery technique.
- Understand the role of advanced surgical techniques.
