Speakers: Dr Islam Shalash

Dr. Islam Shalash graduated with honours from the faculty of dentistry, Cairo University in 2005 and holds a Master's degree (2011) and PhD (2022) in Endodontics from Cairo University where he is a Senior consultant of Endodontics. 

 Dr. Islam holds two speciality memberships in Endodontics from the Royal college of surgeons of Edinburgh (2017) and The Royal college of physicians and surgeons of Glasgow(2022), is a speciality examiner in Endodontics for RCSEd and is a Senior Clinical lecturer of Restorative dentistry at University of Bristol.

Course Objectives

1] Increase candidate confidence in their ability to complete root canal treatments with a solid scientific base. 

2) Allow candidates to Increase success rates of Endodontic treatments on a long-term basis. 

3] Allow candidates to decrease referrals to external Endodontic specialists for moderately challenging cases. 

Our workshops will be applying theory from Lectures in an intense workshop full of tips and tricks to make orthograde root canal treatment easier and more predictable. 

Lectures: 

1] Access cavity: The pathway to a safe endodontic treatment. 

2] Manual Files: How to use different manual files effectively. 

3] Reciprocating and Rotary techniques for shaping, when and why to use? 

4] Learn the benefits and how to use heat treated rotary file systems.
