You’ll hear from Simon Mitchell, (Brighton and Sussex Medical School and Sussex Cancer Research Centre) about his recently published paper on reusing publicly available cancer data to create personalised cancer simulations that can predict prognosis. This will serve as an example of what’s possible when variant-calling data is made public, in standard formats, with linked outcome data.
Gincy George (King’s College London) will also discuss a collaborative initiative focused on understanding the genetic variability in the dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase (DPYD) gene that can lead to impaired drug metabolism. This project aims to collect and analyse data from patients with DPYD gene variants across the UK.
