Tackling drug resistance in cancer: An interdisciplinary workshop

Cancer Research UK are partnering with Physics of Life and the Rosetrees Trust to deliver a one-day workshop aiming to tackle drug resistance in cancer through interdisciplinary collaboration.

Learning objectives

Our interdisciplinary programme seeks to engage attendees in developing new ideas and collaborations to address the problem of resistance to cancer therapies with clinicians and researchers working across different fields, including physical sciences, engineering, mathematics, and cancer.

We aim to facilitate discussions exploring the mechanisms driving the emergence of tumour resistance, approaches for monitoring drug resistance, and development of novel therapies which reduce, or circumvent, resistance.  The event will also provide a forum for the exchange and generation of ideas on how to effectively translate promising new approaches into the clinic.

Audience

This event is open to clinicians and researchers at all career stages, who are working in physical sciences, maths, cancer, or other relevant disciplines in biology (such as developmental biologists) as well as those already working at the interface between these disciplines.

Attendees will have opportunities throughout the day to network with peers and join in collaborative discussions as part of the programme.
