A deep dive into the growing vet tech industry; with a focus on the future role of digital technology in delivering veterinary clinical trials

Laura Peachey (Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Parasitology, Bristol Veterinary School)

Dolberry VCS, Dolberry Building, Langford and online

Hosted by Bristol Veterinary School

Laura has been doing an industry role at a company called Vet-AI part time for the last year. Vet-AI is a veterinary technology company offering a) a telemedicine service and online symptom checker, b) AI diagnostic tool development and c) a digital clinical research platform, centred on delivering clinical trials via digital technology. I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the concepts driving Vet-AI and explain how companies like this are challenging the large corporations which now dominate the veterinary industry. I will focus on the advantages of digital clinical research and highlight opportunities to join forces with industry to advance knowledge and promote an increasingly evidence-based approach to pet health innovation. I would particularly encourage clinicians who are interested in companion animal clinical research to attend, as there may be wide ranging collaborative opportunities. Furthermore, anyone interested in clinical trials (even human!) may find the concepts of digital trials relevant to their future research plans.
