Machine learning and AI in biological science, drug discovery and medicine

The upcoming Royal Society conference on Machine learning and AI in biological science, drug discovery and medicine to be held online on 1 March 2023.

The event is free and forms part of the Royal Society’s unique and high-profile Transforming our future conference series, which brings together leading experts from industry, academia, the wider scientific community and government to explore and address key scientific and technical challenges of the coming decade.

Three broad sessions around biology, chemistry and medicine – given by high-profile speakers from academia and industry – will include talks on machine learning for target discovery and ’omic technologies, AI-based chemoinformatics, and computational clinical trial design, as well as the classical prediction of protein folding.

A final panel discussion will explore how to reintegrate data from specialised biological subdisciplines, reflect on the barriers faced by researchers when accessing and using machine learning technologies, and consider strategies to drive continued interdisciplinary innovation.
