Working with the Cultural and Creative Industries in Research

Hosted by the Division of Research, Enterprise and Innovation

This event is the third in the Bristol Inspired series of events that focus on Global Challenges, as identified in the University Research Strategy. The Global Challenges in our Research Strategy have been identified to coordinate our research efforts on key global issues and empower our colleagues to continue developing high-impact research. Led by Phil Taylor (Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Enterprise) and DREI (Division of Research, Enterprise and Innovation), the event aims to enable radical, cross-disciplinary thinking in key areas.

We invite you to attend the third Bristol Inspired event focusing on the Culture and Creativity research challenge area. The event has been curated by a planning group coordinated by the Brigstow Institute. The morning session will bring together curious minds with the aim of raising awareness of the type of research involving the cultural and creative industries across the university. There will be interactive installations showcasing outputs from research projects on five key themes:

  • equitable living
  • space, place and history
  • creatively curious
  • bodies, minds
  • our world and our place in it

The afternoon session includes focused table discussions around the processes, approaches and methods that are relevant to research that work in collaboration with these industries. Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
