Hosted by Cancer Resaerch UK
Join CRUK for their inaugural Children and Young People (CYP) series, which will feature a jam-packed schedule of engaging discussions with renowned speakers.
Cancer in young people differs from cancer in adults in many ways, including the types of cancer and the impact of treatment. And in this session, we'll look at how a better understanding of the developmental origins of these cancers is not only a powerful tool for investigating normal development, but also a critical step towards improving cancer prevention, detection, and treatment in the young.
You'll hear from a variety of speakers, including:
- Professor Katrin Ottersbach, Professor of Developmental Haematology, Cancer Research UK Fellow, University of Edinburgh, UK
- Dr. Peter Dirks, Chief, Division of Neurosurgery Senior Scientist, Hospital for Sick Kids, Ontario, Canada
- Dr. Harry Leitch, Group Lead at MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences, UK
- Professor Josef Vormoor, Clinical Director of Haemato-Oncology, Prinses Máxima Center, Netherlands
The event will begin with a welcome from Cancer Research UK, followed by 10/15-minute talks from each of the four speakers and a panel discussion with time for questions.
