From the School of Biological Sciences, Professor of Plant Signalling Keara Franklin and Associate Professor in Animal Behaviour Stephanie King, and PhD candidates Beth Harris, will be sharing their journeys through academia, the highs, lows and real experiences of what it is like to work at Universities. The School are also delighted to welcome University of Bristol Biology alumni Ellen Bradley. Ellen was part of the campaign for a GCSE in Natural History, and is currently Co-Director of UK Youth for Nature, and a communications and outreach for a charity called Curlew Action.

Following the talks, there will be a panel discussion and Q&A session with the speakers. Tea, Coffee and Biscuits will be available prior to the talks in the Life Sciences Building atrium from 12:00. After the session there will be a networking social to launch the School’s Women in STEM network from 15:00-17:00 in the Sky Lounge.
