New Chair for the Cabot Institute for the Environment

The Cabot Institute for the Environment has welcomed Chris Kaye to chair its Strategic Advisory Board.

Chris served the United Nations (UN) for 32 years and brings extensive knowledge around food security and responding to disasters, as well as knowledge around the intersecting issues of water, cities, environmental change and energy. Most recently he was a senior leader in the UN World Food Programme (WFP) and has a wealth of experience of managing complex and large organisations and their governance.  

Professor Guy Howard, Director of the Cabot Institute for the Environment said “I am delighted that Chris has agreed to become the next Chair of our strategic advisory board. Chris’ experience providing strategic leadership for a large organisation like WFP will be extremely helpful for the Institute in the coming year. I am also looking forward to tapping into his in-depth knowledge of food security and disasters.” 

As the new Chair of the Institute, Chris Kaye will be responsible for chairing the Institute’s Strategic Advisory Board, providing strategic advice and support to the Institute, which meets biannually. He will also offer critical advice to help shape the delivery of the Cabot Institute’s future vision and build the esteem and profile of the Institute. Chris will be the Chair of the Cabot Institute for the Environment Strategic Advisory Board for three years and will also hold an honorary contract with the University of Bristol.
