Showcasing Net Zero Capabilities: Societal Transformation
Hepple Lecture Theatre, School of Geographical Sciences, University Road, Bristol
The University of Bristol has extensive research expertise in Net Zero, spanning multiple disciplines. Through a recent mapping exercise, we have identified key areas where our research can drive real-world impact. Please see here for more information.
This showcase event will focus on one of the themes within this mapping: societal transformation.
Achieving Net Zero requires more than technological advancements—it demands fundamental shifts in societal behaviours, decision-making, policy development, economic structures, education, and public engagement. This includes thinking about just transition, a key priority area of the Cabot Institute for the Environment.
This four-hour workshop (including a one hour lunch), designed for academics, policymakers, businesses, third sector organizations, and other stakeholders, will provide a platform to explore this pressing research area and form new partnerships. We will also be discussing how to fund potential projects that emerge from this workshop.
- Morning session: A series of short presentations from leading academics highlighting cutting-edge research on societal transformation and Net Zero.
- Networking lunch: An opportunity to connect with researchers and key stakeholders.
- Afternoon workshop: A collaborative session to explore challenges, share insights, and identify opportunities for partnership and action.
Join us to shape the future of Net Zero and drive meaningful societal change.
