Lizzie Kendon
Professor of Climate Science, University of Bristol
Strategic Head of Understanding Climate Change, Met Office
Lizzie has extensive experience in regional climate modelling, where she pioneered the field of km-scale. Her research aims to exploit this new high-resolution capability in impacts modelling and for user applications. Lizzie is a lead on the REPRESA project which aims to exploit new km-scale runs for Africa, coupled to flood models, to gain understanding of changing tropical cyclone risks in southern Africa, and working with local communities to improve early warning systems and inform adaptation options. She is also a lead on FUTURE-FLOOD project, which is in providing new insights into flood risk at local scales across the UK.
