Chris Jones
Professor in Climate Science, University of Bristol
Research Fellow, Met Office
Chris’ research is in numerical modelling of the climate system and its interaction with natural ecosystems. Understanding how the world’s natural carbon sinks will respond to climate change is essential in order to quantify the remaining carbon budgets to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement. Chris has been a regular author for the IPCC since 2007 including the carbon cycle and projections chapters and the 2023 Synthesis Report (https://www.ipcc.ch/ar6-syr/).
